Article Illustrator

Analyze articles, identify illustration positions, generate structured prompts for downstream image generation.

Two Dimensions

Optional --palette overrides colors without changing the rendering style: macaron, warm, neon, mono-ink.

Step 1: Analyze Content

Resolve palette from an explicit --palette, then the selected preset, then preferred_palette in EXTEND.md. Without an override, use the style's built-in colors. See Palette Gallery.

Step 3: Generate Outline

Save outline.md with frontmatter (type, density, style, optional palette, image_count) and entries:

Step 4: Create Prompt Files

Read the selected style file and any palette file before writing. Copy their rendering rules and resolved colors into each prompt; a style name alone is insufficient.

Output: One illustration-{NN}.md file per illustration, in the same directory as the article.

Each file contains:

• YAML frontmatter (type, style, optional palette, references)
• Content Context (title, summary, keywords)
• Visual Design (type, style, palette, aspect, language)
• Illustration Prompt (structured prompt)
• Rendering Notes (style characteristics)
• Reference Style (if reference images provided)
